Macquarie University Hospital Project Director, NSW

Aurora Projects was appointed by Macquarie University as Project Director and Client Representative in 2008 to manage the restructure and dispute resolution of the existing construction contract, resolution of functional and operational project scope, expenditure planning and oversee the implementation of specialist hospital equipment.

The overall project comprised a new 25,000m2 new building accommodating 186 beds, 12 theatres, 2 linear accelerators, a cyclotron, and Australia’s first gamma knife. Some of the fit out of the Australian School of Advanced Medicine included teaching and research spaces with Physical Containment Level 2 (PC2) laboratories, a simulation operating theatre and 5,000m2 of specialist clinician rooms.
