The completion and occupation at the end of February 2012 of a new $80.0m ambulatory care building will occur at Nepean Hospital. This marks a significant milestone for the Nepean Hospital Project and is the culmination of 4 years planning and project delivery management services undertaken by the Aurora Project’s team. Construction of the new 64 bed facility for the Graythwaite Rehabilitation Trust has commenced at the Ryde Hospital in Sydney. Aurora Projects has been responsible for preparation of the Business Case and Project Definition Plan for NSW Health and has been appointed as Project Manager to oversee construction and commissioning of the facility. Construction of a new 20 bed rehabilitation Subacute Centre at Woy Woy hospital has commenced with a $5m worth of improvements to the existing hospital.
Planning is well underway for a significant upgrade to Lismore Base hospital. Aurora Project’s commission for this project includes completion of a Business Case and Project Development Plan for implementation of a staged project budgeted at $265m. The first tranche of funding was announced as part of the 2012 budget with combined Federal and State funds of $80m to provide much needed expansion of the Emergency Department, additional Operating Theatres and Renal facilities.
